Bus Tours of the Bluegrass Family Weekend 2024
Book a tour of the Bluegrass on the Family Weekend registration form!
Take a driving tour with your family through the Kentucky Bluegrass and stop to visit some of Lexington's most iconic locations including a behind-the-scenes tour of Keeneland (www.keeneland.com), Old Friends Thoroughbred Retirement Farm (www.oldfriendsequine.org), and historic downtown Lexington. Buses will pick up passengers in the Scott Street parking lot across from the Taylor Education Building and Dickey Hall at 8:30 a.m. and will drop off passengers in the same location at 12 p.m. Parking will also be available in the Scott Street parking lot.
Tickets to the Tour of the Bluegrass are $45 per seat. All participants, including current UK students and children, are required to purchase their own seat. Sharing of seats will not be permitted.
Seat availability is limited by the capacity and availability of the tour buses. Tickets will not be on sale at the event. If tours are full, you may sign up for our tour waitlist on your Family Weekend registration form. We will contact you if additional tour slots become available.
Snacks and water will be available on each bus. Participants are welcome to bring their own coffee or non-alcoholic drinks.
Location: Meet in the Scott Street parking lot across from Dickey Hall. Check-in will begin at 8 a.m.
Parking: Park for free in the Scott Street parking lot.
Family Weekend entry event button is required. No on-site registration sales.
Accessibility:
- This event may include auditory stimulation such as extra loud sounds, music, and cheers.
- Participants may need to stand and walk for up to 60 minutes at a time.
- ADA parking is available with any ADA parking permit in the Gatton Student Center parking lot on Avenue of Champions, in the Scott Street parking lot, and in the Cornerstone Parking Garage on S. Limestone.
- Restrooms will be available on the bus. ADA restrooms will be available at each tour stop location.
