UK’s Alternative Service Break team is seeking full-time, permanent UK staff members and UK graduate students to serve as site advisors for our Spring 2026 service trips. This is a meaningful professional development opportunity that blends mentorship, cultural learning, and a week of purposeful adventure with students. Site advisors help guide student leaders, support reflection, and shape what can become a life-changing experience for everyone involved.

Spring 2026 ASB Trips

Environmental Sustainability & Plastic Pollution

March 14-21, 2026 | Memphis, TN

$300 per person

Join us in Memphis as we explore the urgent issue of plastic pollution and its impact on local ecosystems. Partnering with Living Lands & Waters, students will help remove debris from regional waterways, support restoration efforts, and learn about the broader environmental challenges facing our communities. This trip offers hands-on conservation work and meaningful reflection on sustainability and stewardship.

Refugee Resettlement

March 14-21, 2026 | Atlanta, GA

$300 per person

Travel to Atlanta to engage with the critical work of refugee support and resettlement. Through a partnership with the International Rescue Committee (IRC), students will assist with programs that help refugees build new lives in the United States. Participants will learn about global displacement, barriers to resettlement, and the ways communities can foster belonging, resilience, and long-term stability.

Housing Insecurity

March 14-21, 2026 | Charlotte, NC

$300 per person

In Charlotte, students will dive into the root causes and human impact of housing insecurity. Working alongside Habitat for Humanity, participants will contribute to affordable housing efforts through construction projects, neighborhood improvements, and community support initiatives. This experience highlights the power of safe, stable housing to transform lives and strengthen communities.

Social Determinants of Health

March 14 - 18, 2026 | Cincinnati, OH

$250 per person

Join us in Cincinnati to examine how factors like education, housing, environment, and food access shape community health. Partnering with the Common Orchard Project and Bethany House Services, students will support urban agriculture, family services, and neighborhood wellness initiatives. This trip offers a holistic look at how sustainable systems and community-based care promote healthier futures.
