Family Weekend is a chance to experience the best of a busy fall football weekend in Lexington! If you’re planning on joining the fun, expect larger crowds, traffic, and more limited parking. Investigate bus, ride-share, and walking options and plan accordingly. We’ll put together the information you need in the Family Weekend materials that you can pick up at Family Weekend Check-in. You’ll find that same information on our website and in the UK Guides mobile app

If you have questions about football ticketing, please contact the UK Athletics Ticket Office at 859-257-1818, or email UKTickets@uky.edu.

If you need additional assistance planning to attend a game day weekend, Parent and Family Engagement is happy to help.

Tips for planning your game day experience

Purchasing Football Tickets

Update from the UK Athletics Ticket Office: The tickets designated for Family Weekend participants for the UK football game vs. Ohio University are now sold out. Fans are able to purchase verified resale tickets through Ticketmaster.com for this game and other games. Use caution when purchasing from any other sites or from people you do not know as ticket authenticity cannot be guaranteed.

Beginning on July 29, Family Weekend registrants will have the opportunity to purchase football tickets (pending availability) for the UK vs. Ohio football game using a special link to a Family Weekend football ticketing website. You do not have to register for Family Weekend to purchase discounted football tickets to this game.

Please note that single-game tickets will go on sale prior to July 29, but we encourage families to wait for the Family Weekend discounted tickets. UK Athletics anticipates ample ticket inventory for UK families. These tickets will not be located in the student section but are likely to be mostly upper level due to strong season ticket sales among UK fans. If families want to sit in the student section with their Wildcat, guest tickets will go on sale within a week or two of the game in September.

Please note that current UK students who would like to sit with their guests will need to purchase a discounted student ticket seated with their party, even if they have purchased a student season pass. Families may purchase one student ticket per UK student. To ensure all tickets in your group are seated together, please be sure to purchase in the same transaction. Student tickets are $15, and guest tickets range from $25 - $40.

All tickets will be mobile and will be available to access through the UK Athletics app or by logging into My UK Account from a mobile device after purchasing. For assistance with accessing mobile tickets after purchase, visit UKathletics.com/MobileTickets. Ticket barcodes will be available to view on your online account beginning early August.

A clear bag policy is in effect at Kroger Field. You will receive a clear tote bag to bring to the game at Family Weekend check-in. Visit UKathletics.com/gameday this fall for more information on gameday policies.

For questions about football ticketing, please contact UK Athletics at UKTickets@uky.edu or 859-257-1818, Monday – Friday, 9 a.m. - 4 p.m. ET.

This offer is only available online, prior to the game and based on availability. All sales are final; no refunds or exchanges.

Booking Your Hotel

There is always a lot going on in Lexington in the fall. We encourage you to book your overnight accommodations early as availability is more limited during football weekends. VisitLEX.com has some great suggestions for hotels, restaurants, and things to do in Lexington to assist you in making your plans.

Parking and Shuttles

With more than 60,000 people coming to the Lexington area for game day, you can expect increased travel and parking time. Do not expect to be able to arrive at Kroger Field 20 minutes before kick-off and find parking close to the stadium. We encourage you to make a plan and park only once.

Family Weekend guests are encouraged to park in the Scott Street parking lot, across from the Taylor Education building, or in the Cornerstone Garage on S. Limestone Street. Both parking lots will be open on Saturday, September 21. Additional parking for fans will be available in most employee (E) lots and parking structures. Learn more about game day parking at https://transportation.uky.edu/relocation

In addition to the shuttles typically provided to UK fans for $1 per ride, free Family Weekend game day shuttles will be available for guests wearing their Family Weekend event buttons from 9 a.m. until 1 hour after the football game. Shuttles will have various pick-up and drop-off locations around campus, including:

  • Scott Street parking lot, across from the Taylor Education Building
  • Administration Drive
  • Rose Street, across from Maxwell Place
  • Hilltop Drive, in front of The 90
  • Corner of University and Cooper Drive

ADA Accessibility at Kroger Field

With a valid state-issued handicap hang-tag, fans can park in the non-reserved disabled lot located at the corner for University Drive and Farm Road. The capacity of the lot is 120 vehicles. This lot will operate on a first-come, first-served basis. The cost per vehicle is $50, and they only accept credit card payments. Once the non-reserved disabled lot is full, guests will be directed to park in Parking Structures 2 or 6.

A limited mobility guest golf cart shuttle is available from Gate 6 to any other gate outside of Kroger Field. Golf carts are not permitted to drive into the parking lots for patron assistance.
