Embark on a journey through the heart of Downtown Lexington, where history and farm-to-table flavors intertwine for an afternoon of fun exploration. The Downtown Walking Food & History Tour invites you to immerse yourself in the vibrant culture and rich heritage of our charming city through exceptional narrative and iconic landmarks like The Square, Skuller’s Clock, the African American Heritage Trail, and Tandy Centennial Park.

What Awaits You:

  • Foodie Adventure: Led by a passionate Bites of the Bluegrass ambassador, you’ll savor the experience with three plates at our chosen stops, with other local art or business highlights along the way.
  • Historical Journey: You’ll be regaled with inclusive, fascinating accounts from Lexington’s storied past, bringing the city’s history to life in a unique way.
  • Tour Details: $70/person; leisurely two-hour stroll, covering around one mile of shaded pathways.

Location: Old Fayette County Courthouse (meet inside the Lexington Visitors Center on the first floor), 215 W. Main Street

Parking: The nearest parking lot to the Lexington Visitors Center can be found at 241 W. Short Street

If you are not planning to register for Family Weekend but would still like to book a Bites of the Bluegrass Tour, you can schedule a separate tour during regular business hours through their website at https://bitesofthebluegrass.com.

If tours are full or if you are unable to reserve a spot during your desired time slot, you may sign up for our tour waitlist on your Family Weekend registration form. We will contact you if additional tour slots become available.
