Explore the variety of free academic support resources available to Wildcats on the self-guided tour of UK’s Learning Centers. Whether a student is looking for general guidance with study strategies or time management, course specific supports in math, science, and business courses, or assistances on any communication /media assignment – UK’s Learning Centers are there to support all students on their academic journey to success.

Follow the path below to visit all participating learning centers or simply pop-in to one or two locations to see what tutoring at UK is all about. Hosted by the Office of Transformative Learning and the Parent and Family Association.

Stop 1: Student Support Services (SSS); Gatton Student Center - East Wing, room C201

  • Student Support Services is a federally-funded program created to support students who are first-generation, low income, or have a documented disability.

Stop 2: The Study Central (Transformative Learning); Hilary J. Boone Center

  • The Study provides free, drop-in peer tutoring for a variety of 100 and 200-level math, science, and business courses.

Stop 3: Writing Center; The Hub in the basement of the William T. Young Library, room B-108B

  • The Writing Center provides virtual and in-person assistance with beginning, developing, or reviewing writing projects for any course.

Stop 4: Presentation U (Transformative Learning); The Hub in the basement of the William T. Young Library, room B-24

  • Presentation U provides free peer tutoring for communication and composition assignments in any form for any course.

Stop 5: Media Depot; The Hub in the basement of the William T. Young Library, room B-50

  • The Media Depot provides one-on-one assistance with multimedia assignments including podcasts, infographics.

Stop 6: General Chemistry Learning Lab; Don and Cathy Jacobs Science Building, room 219

  • The General Chemistry Learning Lab provides one-on-one support for students enrolled in General Chemistry courses.

Stop 7: LEAP Lab; Gatton College of Business and Economics, room 253

  • The LEAP Lab offers free tutoring services for students enrolled in Accounting and Economics courses.

This is a walking tour with stops throughout. In distance, it’s just under two miles long. The tour is 100% wheelchair accessible, and there will be elevator or ramp options for any stairs along the tour, as well as occasional seating to take a break. If you or one of your guests requires a wheelchair, we recommend bringing your own. UK has a few wheelchairs that we can lend guests if arrangements are made in advance. However, we may not be able to accommodate everyone.

Free parking will be available in the Cornerstone Parking Garage on South Limestone all day. Parking in the Rose Street Garage and other Employee "E" lots will open to guests after 4 p.m.
